PPHS Band Starts Camps on
July 21st!

Good morning PPHS Band Students!

 

It's finally JULY! Camps begin in just a couple of weeks! There are a couple of things that EVERYONE MUST DO BEFORE Summer band starts. Please double check all of the information below and don't procrastinate. It is all important for us to have a GREAT season!

 

1. First Fundraiser of the Year.We are starting our biggest a most important fundraiser right now. Here is the PPHS Sponsorship Form for this year!2025 PPHS Sponsorship Form The HS Band program earned well over $12,000 last year just by this fundraiser. ALL HS Band students are asked to sell as many as you possibly can. Half of the amount donated in your name goes directly into your account to help pay for band fees and trips and the other half goes to the booster club to help pay for other items throughout the year. For example, if you sell a $500 Sponsorship, $250 goes into your account and $250 goes to the band booster. You will have covered to $150 band fee and still have money in your account for other things. Check out the list of sponsor last year AND feel free to go to other business throughout Pilot Point and ask for sponsors. The Community of Pilot Point has ALWAYS been so supportive of our program and school.

 

2. Pilot Point HS Band Forms

All NEW and Returning members of the Pilot Point HS Band are required to fill out forms for the year. This year, we have made it as simple as possible. It is all in one form. EVERYONE MUST Fill this form out. The form must be completed BEFORE JULY 29th, 2025

3. PPHS Band Calendar

The calendar can be found below. All dates including Summer Band are required. Please arrange all doctor appointments and vacations around these dates. We have summer band because our first performance will take place right after school starts the week of August 11th. The link below is to a printed version of the band calendar. You can also download the band calendar directly to your phone by logging into Presto and downloading it through the calendar app.

4. PPHS Band FeeAll Students have a HS Band Fee. The 2025-2026 Band fee is $150. This covers ALL Away FB Game meals along with Contest meals, shirts, and anything else that comes up throughout the year for the exception of Marching Shoes. Those are a 1 time fee that needs to be purchased as freshman unless upper-classmen need new shoes. Colorguard, you will have a shoe fee as well but will be handled differently. The first Payment of $75 is due on July 29th and the second Payment of $75 is due August 15th. This can also be satisfied by selling sponsorships.

 

5. ALL Incoming 9th grade and 11th grade band students

 

All 9th and 11th grade band students MUST have a UIL Physical completed BEFORE Summer Band starts on July 29th. The form can be found below. You are welcome to go to any doctor's office or Carenow to get this completed. Once completed and filled out, please email a pdf copy to my email - dbalkema@pilotpointisd.com. This must be completed by July 28th. Please make sure that when you send this, it is in a pdf form.UIL Physical Form5. Presto WebsiteAll communication will be through the Presto Website . Please login and make sure all information is correct. Students use their school email to login. Parents have an account as well. Please make sure your email is up to date so you can continue to receive important information. This site also serves as the Pilot Point ISD's Band inventory and finance system. Any band fees and other important information can usually be found on this app. Please check it often. The Band Calendar is also up to date on Presto.

 

6. Summer Band Info

Colorguard Students: There are choreography camps throughout July. These are required. Check the calendar for specific dates.

ALL High School Percussion Students: Percussion Camp starts July 21st. Ms. Gournay will be sending out information as we get closer to these dates.

Leadership Students including Drum Majors and Section Leaders:

We will have camps from July 21st to July 23rd from 9:00AM - 12:00PM.ALL Freshman / new to Pilot Point students:

Freshman Fish Camp begins on July 28th

ALL High School Band Students report to PPHS starting July 29th.
