Welcome to the Bearcat Band!
We’re so excited to have all of our incoming 6th graders joining the Pilot Point Band Program! Here you will find all information and updates for the beginning band classes. The 6th grade band class is divided into 5 separate 30-minute classes every day, each taught by one of the Pilot Point band directors. Classes are assigned as follows:
Each class meets for 30 minutes to introduce and begin learning the basics of music and their instrument, including how to read music, rhythms, assembly of their instruments, and the beginning performance technique for their instrument. Once the students have a firm foundation to playing their instrument, we will begin combining classes occasionally to prepare for concert performances and special events. During these rehearsals, students will be able to put everything they have learned individually towards performing with a full concert band!
Below you will find any announcements for students and parents, as well as any resourceful links. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can’t wait for an incredible school year with our new band students!
Sincerely,
Josh Donnelly, Dan Balkema, and Leah Cobb
